In what is the first in the history of the BatBreaker league, and undoubtedly the greatest moment in the history of the Spiky Dudes franchise, Pablo Lopez no-hit the Stank Hams in a bid to propel the Spikey Dudes into the Post-Season for the second time in franchise history.

The Stank Hams were the clear favorite as the defending champions with their high-octane offense, but Lopez with his Cy Young contender season was on his game.  In fact, Lopez was perfect through 8 and and one-third innings, when with 1 out in the ninth Wellington Castillo leaned into a pitch that brushed his jersey.  “It was probably the most hittable pitch I saw all night” said Castillo “Lopez’s stuff was insane.  12-6 curveball dropping outta nowhere, cutter moving 20 inches, I’ve never seen anything like it” finished Castillo.

It was the second consecutive season in which the Stank Hams have had to play a make or break game 13.  “Yah, we were really wiped out from playing so many games over the past two seasons.  I mean back-to-back seasons of 13 games, plus the playoffs, man we were just tired out there tonight” slurred Stank Hams Season 7 MVP third-baseman Anthony Rendon.  “But man you can’t doubt our team and how awesome we are.  Now that we have some time to relax before season 9, it is going to give the guys time to recuperate and this team is going to win it in 9!” finished Rendon.  The BatBreaker rumor mill indicates that team ownership is planning to dismantle and rebuild in hopes of generating a team that can once again bring the BatBreaker trophy back to Stank Stadium.

The Spiky Dudes face the 8-4 Jerk Fuzzballs next to see who advances to the Season 8 BatBreaker Series.
