Jerks 10-Run First Stops Spikes Post-Season Surge

Kyle Wright throws his glove to the ground in disgust after his third bases loaded walk of the inning.

The Jerk Fuzzballs have reached the BatBreaker Series once again on what has been described as a ‘fluke inning’ by several members of the Spiky Dudes franchise and by member so the BatBreaker press as well.  The first inning of the highly anticipated matchup between the red hot Dudes and perennial Fuzzballs was a sloppy one-sided pounding highlighted by an uncharacteristically wild outing by Spiky’s ace Kyle Wright.

“I hate to say ‘Black Sox'” said veteran BatBreaker correspondent Milt Brimley “but Kyle’s performance was nothing short of commissioned” continued Milt while grinding a half smoked unlit cigar between his teeth.  Spiky Dudes catcher Jose Briceno was also alarmed by Wright’s unusual outing.  “KW was very emotional on the mound to start the game, he seemed angry at times, then got kinda weepy, and I thought he kept mouthing ‘trainer’ to me so I called out to Barry our trainer and when he went out there he looked back at me and said ‘he wasn’t saying trainer….it was a ‘t’ and not an ‘n’…” finished Briceno.

“Ya know” said Spiky Dudes coach Kurt Blister “if we only played innings 2 through 9 it’s us in the Series, I’m proud of our guys for pulling it together after that first inning. It shows a lot of heart.”  Heart is something the Spiky Dudes are going to need during the long offseason.

The Jerk Fuzzballs await the winner of the Garveytown Garveys and Fluff Kitties.
